Homework Club
After school homework and study help is available in the Learning Resource Centre every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:30pm – 4:30pm. In an effort to assist students with their homework and develop sound study skills, the staff at St Mary MacKillop College have been rostered into the LRC to help students during this time. We strongly encourage students to utilise this excellent facility.

Online Resources
The library subscribes to many online resources, including World Book Online, Crikey, newspaper databases and Echo Online. English class texts available as audiobooks, useful research tips, quick links to Studiosity and the Victorian Premiers’ Challenge and the opportunity to suggest new fiction purchases for the library is also available online. To access all of these services visit the Library Resources page from SIMON.

Little Free Library
The Little Free Library is an initiative implemented by students of the Learning Resource Centre
Committee. They valued the importance of books and the role they play in literacy development and believed all members of our community should have access to the wonders of a book, regardless of their financial situation. They also recognised that recycling discarded books from the library wasn’t very environmentally friendly and wanted to find a more purposeful way to reuse them. This is how the Little Free Library was born.

3rd-year VET Building and Construction students built the Little Free Library while Year 11 Art students brought it to life with a coat of paint. The Little Free Library is located outside of the Technology Centre and all members of our community are encouraged to take and leave books as
they please.

Have you come across a wonderful book from our Little Free Library? Leave a message for our students and don’t forget to let them know where in the world you picked it up.  Email Us
