All Year 9 students attend a four-day camp to Canberra, staying at Leumeah Lodge https://www.canberrastudentaccommodation.com.au/accommodation.

While on camp, our Year 9 students explore some of Australia’s most significant landmarks, including Old Parliament House, Parliament House, and the Australian War Memorial. Students also enjoy a range of fun activities, such as visiting BOUNCE, the National Arboretum, and the Australian Institute of Sport.

At St Mary MacKillop College, we view the Year 9 Camp as a chance for students to deepen their understanding of Australia’s history, enhance peer connections and extend their learning into real-world settings. Through exploring significant national landmarks and taking part in fun, hands-on activities, students build confidence, curiosity, and a sense of adventure.
