The initial phase of construction will focus on the development of the Science and Technology (STEM) building, located towards the southern end of the site. A roadway will be constructed along the eastern boundary to provide access to the building, along with designated parking and a bus loop. During this stage, drop-off and pick-up zones for both buses and vehicles will be established along the southern edge of the designated parking area. Only a portion of the parking facilities will be completed in this phase. An undercover walkway will connect the drop-off/pick-up area to the STEM building, ensuring convenient pedestrian access. Additionally, to support the needs of our Year 9 students, a large grassed area, shaded play spaces, and a basketball court will be developed to provide ample recreational opportunities.
Science and Technology Building
In the STEM building, a dedicated Technology space shaded in blue has been designed to accommodate separate wood and metalworking areas, along with ample storage for student projects and program resources. Items that can be relocated from our current Technology Centre will be transferred to this building.
The green area indicates the Science classrooms, preparation areas, and a dedicated space for plants and animals. During Stage 1, only one of the science rooms will be fully equipped for science instruction, while the other rooms will serve as general-purpose classrooms for our Year 9 students.
The red-shaded area is designated for staff use, and the yellow area will serve as shared space, including an interim library, breakout areas, and a creative maker space. We valued student input during the planning process, particularly regarding the design of the common areas.
