Act for Peace Ration Challenge

This year Student Forum is inviting students to be involved in the Ration Challenge which asks students to eat the same rations as a refugee for 3-5 days and get sponsored to do so. By putting themselves in the shoes of a refugee, they’ll learn about global issues, develop empathy for others and feel empowered to make a difference in the world. The money raised will support refugees and other conflict and disaster-affected communities around the world.
The Ration Challenge for our students will take place from 14th – 18th June 2021. In the lead up to and during this week, students will learn more about the complex issues surrounding conflict and displacement and read some personal accounts from Syrian refugees supported by Act for Peace’s partner in Jordan. The school seeks to give students a safe and empowering way to respond to these issues through the Ration Challenge.
Donations pledged this weekend will be matched by the Rations Challenge partners so if you would like to sponsor please do so via this link: https://schools.rationchallenge.org.au/t/smmcsh
Any student who would like to join should email Ms Howison or Ms Wright
